The pestamel is a traditional flat woven towel used in many Turkish homes as well as the famous Turkish baths, or “hamam.”  Woven on old-style, shuttled looms by the last of the artisans in small Anatolian villages, this soft and absorbent towel is made from GOTS certified organic Turkish grown cotton.  All dyes and finishes are also GOTS certified. These towels will not only add spark, with their vivid colors and charming patterns, but are also better for the environment and healthier for your skin.

+ Important Care Instructions:

Organic cotton is NOT absorbent until after it's soaked in water.  Begin by first soaking in cold water for 12 hours. After the first soak, dry and wash normally. Keeping these few tips in mind, set your washing machine between the temperatures of 30-40 C and use a cool medium dryer. Under no circumstance should you use fabric softener and bleach.

Due to the hand-made nature of this product, slight variations in color, pattern, and condition are to be expected. Irregularities are inherent in hand-woven textiles and contribute to the unique character.
